AST SpaceMobile shares dropped 19% after announcing a massive $1B private convertible notes offering to fund its global satellite footprint. THE CAPITAL: The notes feature a 1.625% coupon with a conversion price set at $79.57, securing $984M in net proceeds. THE EXECUTION: The influx of capital will be used to fund cap calls, fuel long-term growth initiatives, and expand vehicle launch capacity. THE RESPONSE: Despite the massive cash infusion, concerns over stock dilution led to 5 analyst downgrades, keeping the Seeking Alpha Quant score at a neutral HOLD. Will this $1B cash injection successfully propel $ASTS into orbit, or is equity dilution a major red flag for near-term upside?
$ASTS upgraded to Buy at B. Riley, $85 target. The line that matters: “fully funded to deploy its global network.” And for all the noise about delays, the buildout is accelerating. BlueBirds 8, 9, 10 in orbit, three more launching in August, the Texas factory pumping out 10+ satellites’ worth of components a month, 45 targeted in orbit this year. Now the phase shift: beta service can start with as few as 20 BlueBirds, and subscriber data is “just around the corner.” For years this traded on launch schedules. Soon it trades on actual users.
$ASTS Down 6 of the last 7 weeks for -60%. Most oversold RSI since Nov 2025. Candlestick basically entirely outside lower Bollinger Bands. Price distance below the 50dma greatest since Feb 2024. I can see a near term DCB soon. Has to right?!
$ASTS There ain't no way this was just a standard ABC pull back to the 0.618 Fib for Wave 2. It can't be that easy. Potential bottom is in. https://t.co/p1lUGDD9MI
Definitely seems like $ASTS is overshooting to the downside today (down -18.5%) on an offering that might be less than 2% dilution (see below for details). I'm no expert on the company but I'm pretty sure the long-term thesis didn't change in the past 24 hours. Our position was less than 40 bps coming into today... we've started doing some small adds because the stock is now looking washed out (RSI at 31)... and pulling back to some very important technical levels ie fibs and vwaps. This is the lowest RSI has been since the 2024 lows. NFA. DYOR.
$ASTS latest dilution is 4% of its Market Cap But the share price declined -18% on this news Overreaction will become a feast
$ASTS -- another reason I think 52.50 might be where we find support is the large volume shelf from the 2025 lows... which lines up with the VWAP from the 2024 lows and the .618 fibs from the 2024 lows... this is where I look to size up our small position (less than 40 bps) into a medium position.
Looking at the technicals for $ASTS -- I think the next big support level based on VWAPs and Fibs is 52.55 which is -8% lower from here, that's probably where I'd start to get aggressive with the adds. https://t.co/00dlVOxlyK
To all the $ASTS shareholders (@AST_SpaceMobile)... now that the stock is down -57% from the recent highs... back under $60... after the $1B offering announced last night (link below)... with the market cap under $25B and looking a little more reasonable... I'm starting to get more interested in the company but I'm genuinely curious how you're modeling this one out for the next 4-6 years in terms of revenues, margins, capex, dilution, etc. If you have any thoughts or models that you're willing to share, please feel free to post in the comments or send me a DM. $ASTS 65 Support is gone. I'm watching it around 50 pivot point as next support area. https://t.co/RfBjnoj4ic
